Recruitment for the various posts in the Lateral Hire is conducted as per vacancies indented by State Bank of India and its Associate Banks viz. State Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur, State Bank of Hyderabad, State Bank of Mysore, State Bank of Patiala and State Bank of Travancore. Some of the Lateral Hire Posts for which recruitment is carried out in various Grades are Economist, Chartered Accountant, Hindi (Official Language) Officers, Law Officers, Security Officers, System Officers, Electrical Engineers, Civil Engineers, Network Engineers, Fire Officers, Medical Officers (Permanent-Part-Time), Risk Analysts etc.

Age, Educational qualifications & Experience varies as per the Post and Grade.
Reservation and Relaxation in upper age for reserved category candidates will be applicable as per Government Guidelines.
Online Examination is conducted for most of the posts. For posts relating to Security, Fire, Medical Officers and also for Senior positions and where the number of applications is less, no examination is conducted. However, the applications are scrutinised and shortlisted by a Short listing Committee. Depending on the Post, the number of candidates shortlisted for the Interview is generally 3 to 10 times the number of vacancies.
The Examination consists of two parts, Part-I consists of Test of Reasoning, Test of English/Hindi Language and in respect of certain posts Quantitative Aptitude is also tested. Minimum qualifying marks (Mean Marks) in these tests are decided by the Bank depending upon the performance of all the candidates. Only those candidates who score marks equal to the mean and above are considered for interview. Since these tests are qualifying in nature the marks scored are not reckoned for the Final Merit List.
Part-II of the examination is the Test of Professional Knowledge which is objective type and relates to the Post applied for.
Candidates have to qualify all the Tests of Part-I. The papers of Part-II are evaluated only for those candidates who qualify in each paper in the Part-I. Minimum qualifying marks will be decided by the Bank.
Only Part-II, the marks obtained by the candidates in the Test of Professional Knowledge will be reckoned for preparation of the Merit List.
For some post(s), viz. Economist, Descriptive Test is conducted which is also reckoned in addition to the Professional Knowledge test for preparing the Merit List.
Only those candidates who find place in the above Merit List and ranking high enough will be called for Interview. Depending upon the number of vacancies and subject to availability of candidates, the number of candidates called for interview will be in the ratio of 3 to 5 candidates where online test is conducted and a minimum 5 to 10 candidates where no test is conducted.
Candidates who score a minimum percentage marks (to be decided by the bank) in the interview will be considered for final selection. 5% relaxation for reserved category will be available thereon.
Final selection will be made on the basis of candidate's performance in the Professional Knowledge test and Interview. Descriptive test marks, if any, will also be added to the interview marks for preparation of the final merit list. Where no test is held, the selection is made on the basis of marks awarded in the interview.

The advertisement as well as the relevant registration page prescribes detailed guidelines for uploading the photo and signature. The preferred photo dimensions are 200 x 230 pixels and the file size should be between 20kb-50kb. The signature image should be of 140 x 60 pixels (preferred) and the size between 10kb - 20kb. Candidates are required to take a printout of the e-receipt and online application form. Please note that if the e-receipt is not generated, online transaction may not have been successful. Then candidates are advised to login again with their registration number and password and pay the Application Fees/ Intimation Charges online.
If candidate's account is debited and the said transaction is also showing as failed, the amount debited is expected to be credited to the respective account in the due course as per failed transaction rules of the Banks.
a) If the candidate's registration is successful he/she has to take printout of the application form with the help of registration no. and password.
b) If candidate's registration/ payment is not successful; Payment gateway is expected to refund the amount in due course, if any.
No change in the data already registered by the candidate in the online application form is possible as per the terms and conditions of the advertisement /notification. There is save and edit option available through which changes can be made in the online application PRIOR TO SUBMISSION before the last date for registration. The candidates are advised to check all the entries made by them and only then SUBMIT the application.
Registration Password/Registration Number are sent to the mobile number and email id mentioned in the online application form. Candidates are advised to check and preserve the same for registration number and password. Registration No. is also printed on the application form printed after successful registration, of which a candidate is required to keep a printout. The allotted Date, Time and Venue for the exam cannot be changed as per the terms and conditions mentioned in the advertisement
Candidates who opt for a particular centre of exam might not be accommodated therein for reason beyond the control of SBI. Such candidates will be allotted other centres and they are required to appear for the examination at the allotted Centre only.
The candidates are advised well in advance about the venue of the online examination. There is sufficient time available for the candidate to visit or confirm the exact location of the examination venue.

These are the marks secured by last candidate who is called for that particular activity i.e. Main exam, Interview etc.
There is no provision of rechecking of answers/exam score.

The candidates will be allowed to enter the lab on Submission / Authentication of

b. ID proof bearing exactly the same name
c. Photo ID and other identity related credentials
(ii) Signatures of all the candidates present in the lab are to be obtained on the attendance list. If the candidates forget or do not sign the attendance sheet, their presence will not be considered only on the basis of online exam responses.
